Deets: The San Francisco chapter of Project by Project (PbP) presented its 6th annual tasting benefit, Plate by Plate, at The Village on Saturday, September 19, 2015. The event featured over 45 of the Bay Area’s acclaimed restaurants and beverage purveyors, and all net ticket proceeds were donated to Chinatown Community Development Center.

Each year, Project by Project selects a non-profit partner based on a theme or issue that strikes the Asian American community the most. For 2015, PbP SF has partnered with the Chinatown Community Development Center (CCDC). Founded through the gathering of five Chinatown grassroots organization 37 years ago, CCDC is at the forefront of community advocacy, planning, and affordable housing development in San Francisco. As an all-encompassing organization, it aims for a comprehensive vision of community that includes a quality environment, healthy neighborhood economies, and active volunteer associations.

Participants of this year’s event included Alexander’s Steakhouse, Chez TJ, Akiko’s, Twenty Five Lusk, Farallon, Peju Province Winery, Gundlach Bundschu Winery, Remy Martin, and Lagunitas Brewing Company. In addition, the chef de cuisine of Salt House hosted a 3-course tasting menu in the VIP section. 

Guests enjoyed tastings from the various participants, bid on premium silent auction items, and mingled with the chefs and special guests, all the while investing in their community through their support of PbP SF and CCDC.
