Deets: Award-winning director-producer-writer-cinematographer Cary Joji Fukunaga ("Sin Nombre," "Jane Eyre," “True Detective”), Golden Globe winning actor Idris Elba (“Luther,” "The Wire," “Mandela”) and newcomer Abraham Attah (who recently won the Best Young Actor Award at the 2015 Venice Film Festival) take you behind the scenes of “Beasts of No Nation,” the highly acclaimed first theatrical film from Netflix. Shot in Ghana with a cast of largely first-time actors, the film has been been gathering critical and audience acclaim since it premiered on the film festival circuit – playing at the Venice, Telluride, Toronto and London Film Festivals. Adapted from the novel by Uzodinma Iweala, “Beasts of No Nation” follows a young boy named Agu (Attah) who finds himself suddenly thrust into a company of young rebels led by the charismatic Commandant (Elba). As this ragtag army sets off on a series of battles, Agu is eventually promoted from ammo carrier to rifle-toting soldier. BEASTS OF NO NATION follows Agu's journey and the loss of innocence, as he attempts to find the remains of a childhood that seems so out of reach.
