www.HBO.com

When: Tuesday, July 14, 2015 @ 7:30PM

Hot Spot: LACMA, Bing Theater, Los Angeles

Deets: HBO Screening Series - Episodes 105 & 106. Includes a conversation with Co-creators Roberto Benabib and Kim Benabib and cast.

This daring new comedy from HBO is built around an idea that has disappeared from series television: finding laughs in the political arena rather than gaze at groups of star-crossed yet mismatched lovers as they strain to break through their own self-absorption. The Brink is a no-holds-barred indictment of party politics on all sides. We see the collapse of a government in Afghanistan and how the violence that grows from it threatens the world from the point of view of a lower-level political operative (Jack Black) trapped in country, a Navy pilot (Pablo Schreiber) so strapped for money he deals drugs to stay solvent, and the wary and weary secretary of state (Tim Robbins) trying to avert war and maintain stability by any means necessary, a mission that doesn’t keep him from his goal to bed as many women as possible while keeping his wife (Carla Gugino) in the dark. Co-creators Roberto Benabib and Kim Benabib and cast are in attendance for a Q&A after the screening.

Who You May Spot: Co-creators Roberto Benabib and Kim Benabib and cast are in attendance for a Q&A after the screening. Cast includes Jack Black, Tim Robbins, Pablo Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Eric Ladin, Esai Morales and Geoff Pierson.
