At last year’s Black Ball we celebrated the power and potential of a generation of young people living with HIV, as we looked to a new generation of activists in the fight to end AIDS.
The evening was hosted by Alicia Keys, with guest hosts Swizz Beatz and Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs, honoree Riccardo Tisci, guest speaker Phindile Sithole-Spong, and musical performances by Alicia Keys, David Byrne, NAS, Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs & Angel Haze.
The evening extended beyond the physical event with live tweeting of the night and a social media push that resulted in 456 million impressions. Print, broadcast and online press coverage generated over a billion impressions.
Most importantly, the amazing evening raised $2.4 million in essential funds to support our work, bringing the total raised by our annual Black Ball to $24.9 million.
