Deets: Now located in front of the USS Iowa, the 17th Annual Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival, July 22, 23, and 24, is set to serve up another eclectic plate of exciting music along with thousands of plate of delicious hot lobster meals.

“The summer concert season doesn’t begin ‘til you wipe the butter off your chin, so join the party with eighteen of the greatest bands in the LA music scene, ” said Jim Hall, President of International Lobster Festivals, Inc., producers of the Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival.

“Starting Friday with a rockin’ blues set from the Scott Whyte Band, we’ll keep shoveling on the rock and roll all weekend. We’ve got something for everyone, no matter where you go in the venue. Terrific acts on the main stage, and offstage we’ll have everything from Line Dancing Lobsters to Hit and Run Hula flashmobs (Sat. & Sun.) plus a few other surprises. Our carnival area has doubled in size with more rides and games than ever before.

“San Pedro is a town that works hard and plays hard, Friday night is for the home team,” said Hall. “If you like rock and roll and want to see three of the best local bands, then we’ve got what you are looking for.” Headlining Friday will be a new show from The Hula Girls with their patented hulabilly tunes and gorgeous dancers, supported by the new rock sounds of DECORATIONS and opening the show will be the Scott Whyte Band (you get extra points if you can guess where you’ve seen Scott before).

Sunday’s show kicks off at noon with Clean Spill. Filling out the afternoon will be Magic Bronson, Oyster Kids, and The Shari Puerto Band,headlining at 5 pm Sunday will be The Black Crystal Wolf Kids. Opening for for the BCW Kids is Blondfire.

NEW FOR 2016: Festival grounds are even larger this year, located near Battleship IOWA at the Port of Los Angeles, not at Ports O' Call Village. Also, temperatures in Southern California are typically lower in July (vs. September), so a cooler, more comfortable setting is anticipated.

Hint For The Average Socialite: Tickets are available for purchase! Admission is $12.00 for adults, kids under 12, Active duty and retired military and veterans with a VA card get in free. Conveniently located at the end of the 110 Harbor Freeway, parking and shuttle buses are free. 2016 festival hours are: 5 pm to 11 pm, Friday, July 22, 11 am to 11 pm, Saturday, July 23; 11 am to 7 pm, Sunday, July 24. GATES CLOSE AND THERE IS NO ADMITTANCE AN HOUR BEFORE THE END OF THE FESTIVAL EACH DAY.
