About Henry Winkler
Actor, writer, director Henry Winkler, perhaps best known for his role as The Fonz on “Happy Days,” has been entertaining audiences on and off-screen for thirty years. He is also the co-author, with Lin Oliver, of the popular New York Times best-selling children’s book series Hank Zipzer, which chronicles the hilarious adventures of a boy struggling to make it through 4th grade. Winkler’s own challenges with learning—the diagnosis of dyslexia came when he was 30—led him to send this message to children coping with their own learning difficulties: “No matter how you learn, it has nothing to do with your brilliance. You have greatness inside of you.”

About Always Watch Out for Flying Potato Salad
Always Watch Out for Flying Potato Salad, the ninth book in the New York Times bestselling Here’s Hank series, was published early 2017. It stars a younger, 2nd grade Hank Zipzer. Hank is a kid who doesn’t try to be funny, but somehow always manages to make the other kids laugh – as he does in this book when he goes with his mom to her deli for Take Your Child to Work Day. He’s pretty bad at memorizing stuff, and spelling is his worst subject (but so are math and reading!) The books feature an easy-to-read font designed especially for dyslexic readers.

There are currently four award-winning centers in the greater Portland area that have served over 10,000 children. Now, with help from investors like Rebecca Romijn and the support of friends like Julie Bowen and Selma Blair, she’s thrilled to bring the concept home to LA
