Prescription Chicken is from founders Valerie Zweig and Taryn Pellicone. "It was only after getting laryngitis for the second time in six weeks about a year ago that I realized out of desperation that there wasn't a place I could just get some chicken soup delivered without having to order so many other items to make a minimum," Zweig explains on the genesis of the business.

While you can order soup for yourself, Zweig anticipates people will send it as gifts. Quarts of soup range from $12-$18, the hangover version being $18 because it's part of a care package.

To get started, visit the Prescription Chicken landing page that goes live at 10AM daily and answer, "How are you feeling today?" Then order your soup through UberEats (use code eats-ubersaveragesocialite to get $15 off your first order) or Postmates within a certain radius until 5PM. Check out Prescription Chicken's website for more delivery options (including delivery in Maryland and Virginia).
