Deets: Angel City Games, the leading adaptive sports festival in the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, returns this year with its 3rd annual event at UCLA over the June 22nd-25th weekend with the popular Celebrity Wheelchair Basketball Game taking place on June 24th from 6-8 PM at the John Wooden Center at UCLA.

The very popular celebrity wheelchair game has received local and national attention and drawn out big celebs such as Christian Bale, Adam Sandler and so many more as spectators and participants.

This year’s Angel City Games will not only offer its best Celebrity Basketball Game yet, it will have its first-ever exciting new elements, such as five adaptive sports competitions, Charity FunRun & Roll, five amazing Sports Clinics, its first-ever Great Games Family Cookout Event, and an expanded Fun Zone for kids.

Angel City Games is an inclusive competition open to athletes of all skill levels who have physical or visual impairments. These include, but are not limited to: Amputation, spinal cord injury, paraplegia, quadriplegia, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, blindness or visual impairment, TBI or head injury, stroke, muscular dystrophy, neuromuscular/orthopedic conditions, limb difference, brachial plexus, dwarfism or short stature. Further, the venues at UCLA offer athletes a unique opportunity to compete and learn at world-class facilities, where they can participate in clinics to learn and hone their skills, then engage in competition to challenge themselves against other athletes.

"Our goal from day one has been to create a place where people with physical disabilities can be active, connect with the community and showcase what they can do at the court, field, pool or track," said Clayton Frech, founder of Angel City Sports. "In just 3 short years we've built the Angel City Games into a premiere adaptive sports event in SoCal and we look forward to welcoming athletes from all over the country to celebrate adaptive sports and what's possible for anyone with a physical disability."

The Angel City Games are sanctioned by Adaptive Sports USA. Registration for participation is open; Adaptive Sports Clinics are free, Adaptive Sports Competition fees vary per event. Tickets to attend ($5 suggested donation) are also now available.

In addition to the Celebrity wheelchair basketball game and five Paralympic-style sports clinics and competitions, there are tons of community-building activities for athletes and guests, as detailed in the schedule. Throughout the weekend, there will be a variety of events at the Main Stage Expo, including Opening Ceremonies, Live Bands and Singers, Live DJs, Kids Games, Special Events from Sponsors, Celebrity Appearances, and Exercise Classes taught by Orange Theory Fitness. There will also be a Fun Zone Experience area for kids.
