Deets: The National Geographic Society is a global nonprofit that pushes the boundaries of exploration, furthering our understanding of our planet and empowering us all to generate solutions for a healthier and more sustainable future.

We celebrate exploration every day of the year, but during Explorers Festival we’re bringing together the most fascinating and innovative scientists, conservationists, explorers, and storytellers to share – with one another, and with the world – how their discoveries and ideas are creating change for the better.

When you connect with the world’s most innovative explorers, anything is possible. We invite you to join us!

As part of the first annual National Geographic Explorers Festival, on Saturday, June 17, National Geographic be hosting a star-studded Celebration of Exploration, with a culinary expedition featuring several of DC's leading chefs: Amy Brandwein (Centrolina), Victor Albisu (del Campo), Erik Bruner-Yang (Toki Underground), Todd Gray (Equinox) and Jose Andres' ThinkFoodGroup team.

The culinary expedition will be accompanied by live music, craft cocktails and cultural performances. The evening will continue with National Geographic's annual award show, honoring the best of the best in exploration and discovery, including luminaries like Neil deGrasse Tyson.
