Deets: Average Socialite is a proud partner of The Seventh Annual Gold Gala: An Evening for St. Jude which took place on February 24th at the Bowery Hotel in New York City.

The Gold Gala Committee is honored to announce another extraordinary year, raising $156,656 for the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Chaired by Kevin Davenport and Annabelle Devlin, the Gold Gala has been deemed one of St. Jude’s leading young professional events nationwide. The Gold Gala is a formal event where New York’s leading young philanthropists join together for an evening of generosity to celebrate and honor the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Guests enjoyed an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and dancing along with an exceptional silent auction and raffle. Men or Myth returned for the third year in a row to entertain the crowd with a variety of live music. Amada and Locanda Verde generously joined us this year as our food sponsors.

“We were very excited to welcome so many new faces to the Gala this year”, said Kevin Davenport, Co-chair of The Gold Gala. “A majority of St. Jude’s funding comes from individual contributors, making events like ours truly impactful. Since our inception, we have raised over $800,000 for the Hospital. We’re elated and humbled to see the Gala grow each year and inspire young professionals to join St. Jude’s mission of bringing a brighter future to innocent children.”

The Committee would like to extend a special thanks to the event’s contributors and corporate sponsors that help grow The Gold Gala’s commitment to St. Jude year after year.

Over the past 50 years, St. Jude has pushed the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 to 80 percent and will not stop until no child dies from cancer. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs we make, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
