Affair: Taste Walk Glendale 2018

When: Wednesday, May 2, 2018 @ 5:30-8:30PM

Hot Spot: Restaurant Row in Downtown Glendale, Los Angeles, CA

Deets: Taste. Walk. Repeat. That’s what Glendale Arts has you do at Taste Walk Glendale (formerly The Taste of Downtown Glendale), an annual fundraiser benefiting arts and youth programs in Glendale. On Wednesday, May 2nd from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, 40 restaurants in downtown Glendale generously support local youth programs by showcasing specialty items from their menus. Ticketholders delight in a culinary adventure as they stroll through Downtown Glendale, with live music, and wine and beer tasting along the way.

Proceeds from Taste Walk Glendale benefit Glendale Arts and the Alex Theatre. Glendale Arts will designate a portion of the proceeds to support the YWCA Glendale’s Camp Y Summer Youth Program. YWCA Executive Director Tara Peterson shares her excitement: “We’re thrilled to be involved in this event, the proceeds from which will help us ensure families have access to quality and affordable arts and youth programs.”

Downtown Glendale Association will host a VIP Lounge, with additional food and drink vendors, a comfortable outdoor seating area, live music, and access to early check-in. Rick Lemmo, President, Executive Committee Chair of Downtown Glendale Association commented: “Taste Walk Glendale is the only food event of its kind, where ticketholders get to experience diverse restaurants along a half a mile stretch of Brand Boulevard, known as restaurant row, in downtown Glendale”. He goes on to say: “The area is pedestrian friendly, and with inexpensive parking options at city-owned garages (first 90 minutes free), ticketholders can enjoy a relaxing culinary adventure and support a worthy cause.”

Erik Khojoyan, Owner of Eden on Brand notes: “The restaurants in downtown Glendale attract people from all over the city, and Taste Walk Glendale is a great way to sample what each restaurant has to offer, and to make plans to come back again in the future. We are happy to participate in this event to raise money for the Alex Theatre, the arts and our kids.”

“We are very grateful to the restaurants participating in Taste Walk Glendale,” commented Glendale Arts Board Chair Vincent Espinoza. “Thanks to their generosity, we can provide children with access to the arts, contributing to their personal development and building a stronger community. We couldn’t do it without them!"
