When: Saturday, August 11, 2017 @ 5PM (Signing reception) & 8PM (Dinner)

Hot Spot: 555 Field, Amagansett, NY

Deets: Authors Night is a lavish fundraiser to benefit the East Hampton Library. All proceeds go directly to the Library. Beginning in 2005 with a handful of dinners and a few hundred attendees, it has grown to be the premier literary event of the Hamptons with 100 authors and more than 2,500 people in attendance.

The evening begins at 5PM with the Authors Reception under a grand tent, where guests enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and wine and have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the authors, buy their books, and have them personally inscribed. At 8 pm, directly following the Authors Reception, guests dine at dinner parties at private homes in honor of one or more of the guest authors.

Who You May Spot: The evening’s Founding Honorary Chair, Alec Baldwin, will be joined by his wife Hilaria Baldwin, both of whom will be signing their recent books. Other featured authors include Robert A. Caro, Lee Child, Amy Chozick, Tom Clavin, Blanche Wiesen Cook, Elliott Erwitt, Florence Fabricant, Jules Feiffer, A.J. Finn, Emily Jane Fox, Wendy Goodman, A.M. Homes, Michael Isikoff, Steve Israel, David Itzkoff, Ndaba Mandela, Wednesday Martin, Malcolm Nance, Geraldo Rivera, Bob Roth, Gretchen Rubin, Jill Santopolo, Nathan Turner, Piper Weiss, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, and Chris Whipple. As the event nears, many additional best-selling, prize-winning, celebrity, and distinguished authors will be added to the roster of participants.

Hint For The Average Socialite: Ticket prices are $100 for the Authors Book Signing Cocktail Party, and begin at $300 for the dinners (includes entry to book signing party). Tickets may be purchased at the Authors Night website (www.authorsnight.org), at the Library (159 Main St., East Hampton, NY), and by phone at (631) 324-0222. Tickets for the Book Signing Cocktail Party portion of the evening will also be available at the door ($100).

Proceeds from this special event benefit the East Hampton Library, a private, not-for-profit organization providing outstanding free library services to the East Hampton community since 1897.
