Theía—the first restaurant from visionary entrepreneur and real estate developer Max Simon—debuts  Saturday, August 15 in the heart of Los Angeles’ Fairfax district. Inspired by the glamour and glory of Mykonos, Theía’s lively yet sophisticated ambiance will transport guests to a Mediterranean oasis, made complete with inventive cocktails, contemporary Greek cuisine, and lush Instagrammable interiors. Staying compliant with state and local guidelines, Theía will be open for takeout and to-go orders, available via Uber Eats, Postmates and Caviar; as well as socially distanced outdoor dining on the patio for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Indoor dining will be allowed once it is deemed safe by Los Angeles county.

The modern Mediterranean fare from Chef Moises Placencia weaves in fresh, bright California flavors throughout the menu. Diners can choose from a selection of sophisticated mezze plates like the Homemade Pita and Tzatziki made with Greek yogurt, shallots, lemon, and dill; Charred Octopus with fingerling potatoes, jalapeño, olives, and cilantro; and Spanikapita with spinach, feta, leeks, garlic, and lemon. Notable entrees were created to appeal to both taste and visual senses, with dishes like the Colorado Rack of Lamb that arrives to the table enveloped in smoke so all your senses are tickled; the Salted Crusted Loup de Mer topped with a caper beurre blanc sauce; and for brunch, a Pita Benedict with a poached egg and tomato with choice of lamb sausage or smoked white fish.

To compliment, the mixology program from Bar Manager Sean Leopold features artistically crafted libations that combine the finest ingredients with whimsical presentations to create cocktails that stimulate the senses. Signature drinks include the Purple 75 with Tanqueray gin, St. Germain, fresh lemon juice, and champagne served with a dropper of butterfly pea flower that guests are invited to place into the drink that naturally transforms the color from a light yellow to a deep purple. The Give Me A Break is a punch-like drink served with dry ice, made with Acre mezcal, amaro Montenegro, fennel seed, freshly squeezed lime, pomegranate, and granny smith apple juices garnished with a salt rim and dehydrated blood orange. On weekends, Theía will also be serving customizable Bloody Marys with elevated garnishes like bacon-wrapped shrimp and sriracha glazed bacon alongside bottomless bellinis and mimosas.

With an interiors designed by Joshua Wymyczak and Tracy Hutson of Tracy Hutson Design, Theía provides guests with the quintessential indoor-outdoor dining experience. Upon entering the space, guests are greeted by live plant walls and swanky interiors with pops of navy and hot pink throughout. A large bar, designed to be the focal point of the restaurant, sits in the center of the 77-seat space. Navy velvet banquets line the walls for elegant indoor seating and large, street-facing windows open up to the alfresco dining area on West 3rd, with large hedges surround the space to create an intimate dining experience. Remaining true to the lively ethos of the restaurant, following opening, Theía will be working with local DJs for a curated musical experience. While safety restrictions are in place, premade DJ sets will be played to complete the vibrant ambiance of the space. And once permitted, the restaurant will partner with DJ’s to play live sets for diners to enjoy.
