Deets: For the third year - World leaders, celebrities, and 60,000 global citizens gathered in Central Park at The Great Lawn to help end extreme poverty by 2030. The World Bank also announced a $15 billion commitment over the next 5 years to sanitation and water solutions, which will affect the lives of close to 150 million people. Top artists who headlined the festival included Tiesto, The Roots, Fun, Carrie Underwood, Alicia Keys, No Doubt, Sting, and Jay-Z, with a special appearance from Beyonce (who ended the night with a killer performance of Forever Young).
Special toilet paper stocked in the VIP bathrooms reminded guests about the purpose of the evening - it came layered with a top-sheet of global stats about open defacation, leading with how over 2.5 billion people worldwide still live without access to improved sanitation (1 billion of whom still defecate outside).

As well as world dignitaries including Queen Silvia of Sweden, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, Primie Minister Erna Solberg of Norway and President Barack Obama (via video).
