Deets:  Fight For Children, today announced that the 25th annual Fight Night fundraiser raised a record-breaking $4.7 million to support education and healthcare programs for low-income children in D.C. and Baltimore.

Held last night at the Washington Hilton, Fight Night brought together more than 2,000 heavyweights of business, government, entertainment and philanthropy to raise funds for Fight For Children and enjoy live boxing bouts.

“The 25th annual Fight Night was our biggest and best night yet,” said Raul Fernandez, Fight for Children chairman and vice chairman of Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “We raised a staggering amount of money for the children of D.C. and Baltimore so that they can lead healthier and better lives. We thank Under Armour for their leadership and support in helping make Fight Night 2014 such a success.”

For the first time ever, Fight Night featured two World Boxing Council-sanctioned championship bouts. Ava “The Lady of Boxing” Knight defended her Flyweight Championship title against Lupita Martinez in a 10-round battle. Undefeated Super-Flyweight Champion Carlos “Principe” Cuadras maintained his undefeated record, knocking out Marvin Mabait of the Philippines in only six rounds.

Fight Night 2014 was co-chaired by Kevin Plank, CEO of Under Armour, and Fernandez.

Before heading out to the after party, guests stopped by the American Summits Water Bar in the lobby for a bottle of premium water to go.

Spotted:  In addition to championship boxing bouts, numerous legendary boxers were in attendance including Gerry Cooney, Julio Cesar Chaves, Roberto Duran, Larry Holmes, Ray Mancini, Eric Morales, Aaron Pryor, and Mia St. John. Guests also enjoyed music from Tony Award nominee Michael Cavanaugh.
