International Myeloma Foundation 8th Annual Comedy Celebration

When:  Saturday, November 8, 2014, 6:00PM

Hot Spot:  The Wilshire Ebell Theatre & Club, 743 South Lucerne Blvd., Los Angeles, CA

Deets:  With Ray Romano hosting, for the first time, this annual event featured a one-night only presentation of Celebrity Autobiography
, a  smash comedy hit featuring outrageous celebrity memoirs acted out hilariously on stage by an all-star cast. Proceeds from the IMF 8th Annual Comedy Celebration benefited the Peter Boyle Research Fund and supported the Black Swan Research Initiative® (BSRI), a groundbreaking and internationally collaborative effort to find pathway to a cure for myeloma. Renowned actor Peter Boyle died in late 2006 after a four-year battle with myeloma, an incurable cancer of the bone marrow and one of the fastest growing blood cancers in the world. Through laughter, the event honored Boyle and raised money for research to find a cure.

Highlights from the night:

  • Hilarity ensued when Danny DeVito opened the Celebrity Autobiography show reading the chapter on David Hasselhoff's Broadway career from the book Don't Hassel the Hoff: The Autobiography
  • Rhea Pearlman captured her inner Vanna White reading about the challenges of flipping the letter panels on "Wheel of Fortune" from the 1987 autobiography Vanna Speaks
  • Everybody Loves Raymond cast members Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton and Doris Roberts were on-hand to show their support for the late Peter Boyle and contributed to the Celebrity Autobiography readings
  • Rita Wilson showed off her funny side with her hilarious take on Ivana Trump's The Best is Yet to Come and Hedy Lamarr's Ecstasy and Me: My Life As A Woman

Spotted:  Ray Romano, Danny DeVito, Lucy DeVito, Will Forte, Patricia Heaton, Howard Hesseman, Alex Meneses, Lesley Nicol, Laraine Newman, Rhea Perlman, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, Doris Roberts, Rita Wilson, Loraine Boyle
