🍜 GRAND OPENING OF OKIBORU, LA

Affair: Grand Opening of Okiboru

When: Thursday, July 19, 2018 @ 5-8:30PM

Hot Spot: Okiboru, 635 N. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA

Deets: Okiboru House of Tsukemen is excited to announce the opening of its first location in the heart of Chinatown. Trained in Japan to master the tsukemen craft, the founders of Okiboru are on a mission to bring tsukemen to a wider audience of eaters outside of Japan. Unlike traditional ramen, tsukemen noodles are thicker and served on the side hence the name “dipping ramen.”

At Okiboru, whose name roughly translates to “big bowl,” they believe the key to making great tsukemen starts with the noodles. All their noodles are made on-site from scratch with their own unique recipe. Okiboru also has the highest standard for their broth, simmering it over a period of time much longer than the typical ramen broth until it reaches a consistency perfect for dipping.

Menu favorites include the signature tsukemen bowl The Okiboru (“The Big Bowl”) served with pork ribs, seasoned soft boiled egg, pickled radish, scallion, bamboo shoots, and nori ($17) as well as the Chashu-boru with pork chashu, seasoned soft boiled egg, pickled radish, and scallion ($16). Understanding the diverse dietary needs of the customers, Okiboru innovated on the traditional pork-based broth with vegan-friendly options. Gluten-free noodles are also available. Okiboru’s grand opening took place on Thursday, July 19th from 5PM to 8:30PM.
