Blue Ribbon Sushi Brings Ueki Omakase to Palisades Village

Inspired by tradition and rooted in the spirit of Japanese hospitality, Ueki at Blue Ribbon Sushi opened its doors in August 2026 as an intimate, omakase dining experience. The 14-seat cedar “jewel box” includes 10 seats at the sushi bar and two cozy booths for two, creating a setting that feels both elevated and welcoming.

Guests can explore a refined beverage program featuring a bespoke cocktail list, a curated selection of sakes and fine wines, and a dedicated whiskey armoire. Located within Blue Ribbon Sushi at Palisades Village, Ueki has its own entrance, private dining room and restrooms. Just steps from Blue Ribbon’s outdoor terrace and discreetly concealed behind a hand-crafted shibori curtain, the space feels like a hidden retreat. Warm lighting, rich red tile accents, plush seating and deep wood tones come together to create a serene yet vibrant atmosphere.

At the heart of the room, the hinoki wood sushi bar serves as the main attraction, where Sushi Chef Lee San works with pristine fish, shellfish and seasonal delicacies to present multi-course tasting menus. Chef Lee San brings together traditional Japanese techniques with inspiration drawn from his Korean heritage and global travels, shaping a deeply personal omakase experience. Already recognized within Los Angeles’ culinary scene as one of the city’s top sushi chefs, Chef Lee San leads a small, dedicated team in executing his vision. A traditional robata grill plays a central role, highlighting Japanese Wagyu beef and other seasonal specialties prepared with precision and care.

Ueki at Blue Ribbon Sushi is open Wednesday through Sunday, offering one seating at 6:30 PM. Each tasting menu experience is approximately two hours and begins promptly at the scheduled time; guests arriving late join the experience at the course currently being served. Tasting menus are priced at $195 and $265, with beverage pairings available at $95, featuring cocktails, sake, spirits and wine. À la carte selections, along with non-alcoholic pairings and offerings, are also available.

Ueki is available for private events and curated culinary and mixology experiences throughout the week, including Mondays and Tuesdays, based on availability.

Blue Ribbon Sushi Palisades Village Reopens with Reimagined Outdoor Experience

Blue Ribbon Sushi Palisades Village reopened in August 2026 with an expanded patio footprint, featuring a newly designed pergola with integrated lighting, heating and all-weather protection that creates a comfortable, year-round al fresco setting. The refreshed space adds approximately 20 additional seats and includes a built-in banquette, blending functionality with elevated design.

Architectural lighting defines the pergola, while the entire patio is thoughtfully landscaped with Japanese-inspired elements to create a serene, immersive environment. From the patio, guests have direct access to both Ueki Omakase and Blue Ribbon Sushi, creating a seamless and connected dining experience across concepts.
