Deets: Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates spring in Washington, DC, the gift of the cherry blossom trees, and the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan. The Festival produces and coordinates daily events featuring diverse and creative programming promoting traditional and contemporary arts and culture, natural beauty, and community spirit. 

Known as the kick-off to spring in Washington, the Pink Tie Party stylishly marks the end of winter and the official beginning of blossom season. Attendees will be delighted by delicious food highlighting DC’s culinary scene, an open bar, unique entertainment, over-the-top-decor, and the friendly competition of the silent auction.

The Pink Tie Party is an event not to be missed as more than 800 influencers and trendsetters come together for one of the most buzz-worthy events of spring. Proceeds benefit the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Inc. a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the beauty of nature and international friendship through year-round programs, events, and education initiatives that enhance our environment, showcase arts and culture, and build community spirit.

Kick-off the 2019 National Cherry Blossom Festival and watch world-renowned performers as we welcome springtime to Washington, DC and celebrate the anniversary of the gift of trees from Japan to the United States. Enjoy spirited traditional and contemporary performances in the historic Warner Theatre. The Festival heralds a natural treasure that unites our city, region, nation, and the world. The trees – both in Japan and the U.S. – always have symbolized birth and renewal. The Opening Ceremony celebrates the season through a showcase of great American and Japanese talent.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is kicking off kite season. The eighth annual Blossom Kite Festival showcases the creativity of kite makers and skill of fliers from across the US and other countries through a variety of competitions and demonstrations, Rokkaku Battles and the Hot Tricks Showdown. Bring your own kites or children can make a kite at an activity station (while supplies last) to fly on the Public Field. Kites will also be available for purchase onsite.

Saturday, April 6: Petalpalooza
Formerly known as the Southwest Waterfront Fireworks Festival, Petalpalooza will include interactive art installations, larger-than-life games and activities, live music, a beer garden, a spectacular fireworks show, and much more!

Join thousands of spectators on April 13, 2019, as exciting entertainers, elaborate floats, gigantic helium balloons, and more head down iconic Constitution Avenue in a grand celebration of spring in Washington, DC.

Grandstand tickets ensure the best views of all the performances from the comfort of your own seat. A limited quantity of Grandstand tickets for the telecast area (sections 1 - 26) are also available. Be sure to purchase your ticket before they sell out.
