Social distancing. Take it seriously. You might be healthy and you might feel invincible. However, there are several hundreds of thousands of people who are at higher risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), including some of your family members. These #HighRiskCovid19 individuals include those 60 years and older and/or individuals with immunocompromised systems (diabetes, lung disease, heart disease, lupus, cancer, etc).

Many of us might get COVID-19 but show no symptoms. Picture this: Once infected and asymptomatic, you could then transfer it to a friend you are meeting up with who lives with an 80-year-old-grandmother or sister with lung disease- or you go to a restaurant and you transfer it to the waiter, then the waiter then transfers to multiple customers. They become infected and suffer the effects of COVID-19, some being fatal.

This is the reality— COVID-19 is already here. We just need to slow the spread—if you don’t stay home and practice social distancing, you’re not only going to increase the rate of spreading COVID-19 but you will also overwhelm the hospitals and their doctors, nurses, and staff to the point where they might have to choose who gets the ventilator and who does not (just as it has been happening in Italy) AND prevent those who need other critical healthcare services, including potentially yourself. We want to avoid that. Please be smart.

Remember, EVERY LIFE MATTERS, yours too. Please stay home so we all can live. Flatten the curve.
