Average Socialite is working hard to maintain accurate & up-to-date information. During these unusual times, please confirm openings with each venue.

Deets: The Phillips Collection will reopen its doors to the public on Thursday, October 15, with new safety measures in place in accordance with health guidelines and in response to the covid-19 pandemic. As a thank you for continued support, early access will be offered to members and community partners from October 8-11.

The Phillips Collection and Phillips@THEARC have been temporarily closed since March 14. The Phillips Collection staff has worked diligently over the past few months to craft a detailed and phased plan that will allow the museum to reopen while ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of not only our visitors but also our staff.

The museum’s Goh Annex and Sant Building will be open Thursdays-Sundays, from 11 am to 6 pm starting October 8 for members and community partners and October 15 for the public, with tickets available on the Monday prior. All visitors will be required to reserve a timed ticket and abide by safety guidelines available at PhillipsCollection.org/visit. The museum shop will be open, but the Phillips House galleries as well as Tryst as the Phillips café will remain closed. The Phillips Collection will continue to monitor CDC and DC guidelines in order to assess and update visitor hours and protocols.

ABOUT THE PHILLIPS COLLECTION
The Phillips Collection, America’s first museum of modern art, was founded in 1921. The museum houses one of the world’s most distinguished Impressionist and American modern art collections, and continues to grow its collection with important contemporary voices. Its distinctive building combines extensive new galleries with the former home of its founder, Duncan Phillips. The Phillips’s impact spreads nationally and internationally through its diverse and experimental special exhibitions and events, including its award-winning education programs for educators, students, and adults; dynamic Phillips Music series; and popular meditation and Phillips after 5 events. The museum contributes to global dialogues with events like Conversations with Artists and Artists of Conscience. The Phillips Collection values its community partnerships with the University of Maryland—the museum’s nexus for scholarly exchange and interdisciplinary collaborations—and THEARC—the museum’s satellite campus in Southeast DC. The Phillips Collection is a private, non-government museum, supported primarily by donations.
