Deets: The Capital Pride Alliance (CPA) and WorldPride, in collaboration with DC’s Business Improvement Districts, announced the Taste of Pride 2025 event series, a multi-tiered program that celebrates the rich connection between the LGBTQ+ and culinary communities across the capital region. This year’s program will feature a multi-month collaboration between DC’s Business Improvement Districts (BIDS) that showcase the distinctive flavors and culinary talents within these vibrant neighborhoods.

From January 30th through July 31st, they’re bringing you an exquisite celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and dining flavors in the National Capital Region. Your talented chefs and amazing restaurants will curate exceptional menus that showcase the best of their culinary artistry.

Taste of Pride aims to blend the culinary artistry of our city with the pride and diversity that define our community, paving the way for a vibrant WorldPride celebration.

Deets: Park Hyatt Washington D.C., is pleased to announce the exhibit of internationally recognized French artist Stephane Koerwyn’s aluminum creations of “prêt ART porter” in both the public spaces and the private suites of this landmark luxury hotel in the West End of the nation’s capital. A total of 30 sculpture dresses are on display and available for purchase.

The talented culinary team at the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, Blue Duck Tavern, has created a new cocktail, European Spring, priced at $24, available in both the restaurant and bar during the exhibition, which will remain in place until October 30, 2025. The libation is a nod to these colorful dresses made of painted recycled aluminum that are a fusion of art and fashion.

When: On concert days, the Sculpture Garden closes from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.; gates reopen at 5:00 p.m. for Jazz in the Garden attendees and the concert begins at 6:00 p.m.

Where: The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden is located on the north side of the National Mall. Entrances are located at 7th Street NW, 9th Street and Constitution Avenue NW, and 9th Street and Madison Drive NW.

Deets: DC’s favorite summer concert series is back! For more than 20 years, Jazz in the Garden has turned the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden into a stage, allowing visitors to cool down by the fountain and enjoy refreshments while taking in the sounds of acclaimed musicians amidst our renowned collection of outdoor sculpture. This year, the garden will come alive with free musical performances including jazz, Latin fusion, R&B, and more, every Friday from May 23 through July 11 (except for July 4).

Hint for the Average Socialite: Due to the popularity of Jazz in the Garden, and to give everyone an equal chance of attending, they’ll once again offer registration through a lottery system. The lottery will take place the week before each event. It will open on Monday at 10:00 a.m. and close Friday at noon. They’ll notify all lottery entrants whether or not they were selected the Monday before each program via email. If selected, you’re welcome to register for up to 4 passes. Registration is required for ages 2 and above.

Deets: National Harbor will hold its fourth Annual Juneteenth Freedom Celebration on Thursday, June 19 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event, “Rooted in Resilience, Growing in Unity,” honors Juneteenth’s legacy commemorating the ending of slavery when the emancipation proclamation was finally enforced in Texas on June 19, 1865. 

The event at National Harbor will kick off at 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. with a Black-owned marketplace in the Capital Canopy (151 National Plaza). More than 30 vendors will showcase Black-owned businesses and provide a range from clothing to accessories to home goods.

Live entertainment will take place from 2 to 6:30 p.m. and will include music, performances and interactive experiences on the Plaza Stage (150 National Plaza).

Movies on the Potomac will feature Black Panther starting at 7 p.m. on the big waterfront screen (150 National Plaza.)

Deets: For those who are not able to travel to the UK for Royal Ascot this June, Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is holding a Royal Ascot Garden Party. On Friday, June 20 from 3pm until 5pm, the Loggia and courtyard garden will be transformed into a Royal Ascot Enclosure.

Royal Ascot is the unmissable event of the British summer social and sporting season, five spectacular days in June where excellent horseracing, fashion, pageantry and the finest food abounds. Fairmont’s Royal Ascot Garden Party guests will enjoy dining on royal fare, sipping champagne, Pimm’s Cups and Mint Juleps in the Royal Enclosure.  Large screens will show case Royal Ascot Ladies’ Day scenes,

Executive Chef Jaime Montes de Oca and Executive Pastry Chef Lyndsey Barton are creating Royal Ascot-inspired afternoon tea fare and picnic baskets with many of the Royal’s favorite recipes.

Elena Wittman, of ArtofHats Studio will present an elegant art of millinery, (hat making).  Hats and headpieces will be available for sale and, she will talk about which headpieces to wear for various events.  Jo Malone London, City Center will provide a pop-up shop featuring the finest candles and amenities and Jaguar Land Rover of Alexandria* will display a new Jaguar and Land Rover in the hotel’s drive.

Life-sized cutouts of the Royals will create perfect photo opportunities. Staff members will be dressed for the occasion and don hats fit for the Royal Ascot. Mother's® Cookies invites families to join in on the excitement as its first-ever chocolatey cookie, Dynamite Dinosaurs, stomps across the nation this summer. Parents and kids can enjoy quality time together at the brand's interactive Frostology Lab where engaging, hands-on activities spark imagination and create memorable moments centered around these delicious dinosaur-shaped treats.

Families will enter a dino-themed adventure land where they can put on their paleontology hats and explore eye-catching dino-ramas, a colossal coloring book, and so much more. At each pop-up, children will transform into "junior frostologists" with official lab coats, becoming dino explorers as they dig through spectacular sprinkles to find frosted fossils and sweet surprises.

Deets: The Colonnade at Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is the place to be in America's capital city for Easter Sunday Brunch on April 20. During brunch, the Easter Bunny will visit with children of all ages and, an electric violinist will provide musical entertainment.

Easter egg hunts will take place in the courtyard at 1pm and at 4pm for children, after they have finished enjoying Easter Brunch in the Colonnade.

Among the Chefs’ Easter Brunch offerings is a seafood display featuring Chesapeake oysters, jumbo poached shrimp, snow crab, Dutch mussels, and smoked whitefish. Easter entrée selections include a carving station of honey-glazed Nueske’s ham and horseradish crusted prime rib. Signature dishes - organic roasted chicken, rainbow chard and citrus-baked are accompanied by spring thumbelina carrots and grilled broccolini. Brunch classics including house-made pastries, a cage free egg and omelet station, Belgian waffles and French toast are just a sampling of the many offerings on the Easter buffet.

The children’s buffet includes crispy chicken fingers, Wagyu beef sliders, potato latke, buttered broccoli and the ever-popular baked macaroni and cheese.

Saxophonist Grant Langford, kicks off the 2025 Take 5 season with a selection of contemporary jazz compositions. He is a member of Airmen of Note, the premier jazz ensemble of the US Air Force Band. Alongside his active-duty military service, Sgt. Langford performs and teaches in the Washington, DC region.

Deets: The nation’s springtime parade returns Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Individual and group grandstand seating is the best way to experience the Parade.

Every year, The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® — the nation’s springtime parade — fills the iconic Constitution Avenue with blossom magic, featuring giant helium balloons, stunning floats, and renowned characters we all love. The Parade is a highlight of the Festival, a culmination of four weeks of celebrations rolled up into a colorful and musical extravaganza for the whole family. It takes place on the final weekend of the Festival, as one of several events spanning four weeks to celebrate spring and the beauty of the cherry blossoms. The Festival will take place March 20 - April 13, 2025.

Hint for the Average Socialite: Tickets to view the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® Presented by Events DC for designated grandstands are now available for sale. Access to non-ticketed portions of the Parade along Constitution Avenue NW between 7th and 17th Streets is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. 

The Parade is a RAIN OR SHINE event. The use of umbrellas in the grandstand bleachers is discouraged. Every guest needs a ticket, except children under 2. Unticketed children must sit on the lap of a ticket holder. The use of strollers in the grandstand bleachers is discouraged as there is no storage space.

Deets: Join Move & Bloom on Saturday, April 5th, from 9am - 12pm. Celebrating health and wellness in the Bridge District, Move & Bloom will feature an array of free fitness activities including Barre, HIIT and Boxing classes from local exercise studios and a marketplace filled with local wellness-minded vendors and a mobile floral boutique to jump start your day.

We are also thrilled to join forces up with Sandlot Anacostia, who will be relaunching their iconic space by hosting Streets Calling Bike Club DC in partnership with Broccoli City, offering free bike tune ups, music, and legendary vibes onsite.

Following the Move & Bloom event, guests are invited to join the Cherry Blossom group bike ride at noon. This ride will be led by The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) over the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge to the Petalpalooza event at the nearby Capitol Riverfront Neighborhood.
