Deets: Gather round! Experience the great tradition of state fairs at an after-hours party to celebrate the opening of the newest exhibition at SAAM’s Renwick Gallery, State Fairs: Growing American Craft. 
Guests will be greeted by a lasso performer with skillful rope tricks and charismatic flair, bringing a touch of excitement as guests enter the museum. “Quilt walkers” in quilted gowns crafted from vintage style patchwork in Americana fabric will entertain guests in the galleries along with a calligrapher who will create customized jam jars for guests to take home.

Dance the night away with a live DJ followed by Grammy Award-winning band Ranky Tanky. The soulful group will provide a mixture of playful originals inspired by the Gullah culture. 

Hint for the Average Socialite: Tickets ($125) will be available for purchase on September 2. Ticket price includes state fair-inspired sweet and savory bites, creative fair cocktails, corn whisky tasting station, a cornbread bar, and a blue-ribbon cake display.“State Fair chic” encouraged. Think bedazzled gingham, denim, boots, fringe, and handmade statement accessories that celebrate handwork and craft. Guests will be rewarded for creative attire!
