Deets: Experience the spirit of New Orleans right here in D.C. during Mardi Gras at The Wharf on Sunday, February 15, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This free, neighborhood-wide celebration will feature:
A mile-long Mardi Gras parade down Wharf Street with decorated floats, stilt walkers, and the King and Queen of Mardi Gras
Special appearances from the Eastern High School Marching Band, Slapshot of the Washington Capitals, Major Tuddy and the Commanders Band, Racing Presidents from the Washington Nationals, and more.
Live music from the Naptown Brass Band and Too Much Talent Band
Mardi Gras-themed kids’ crafts
Hurricanes made with The Wharf’s very own Thrasher’s Rum
A fireworks finale over the water to close out the celebration
Schedule
3:00 PM – Mardi Gras activities begin and the District Pier bar opens
3:30 PM – Mardi Gras parade begins on Wharf Street
4:30 - 7:00 PM – Party with live music on District Pier, the Grove and Transit Pier
~6:30 PM – Fireworks Finale
