Deets: This October, Mimi Cheng’s, the cult-favorite dumpling shop in New York City’s East Village founded by sisters Hannah and Marian Cheng, joins forces with Kato, the acclaimed Los Angeles restaurant led by James Beard Award–winning Chef Jon Yao, for an exclusive culinary collaboration.
Together, they’ve created a Taiwanese Lamb Sausage Dumpling paired with an umami-packed black bean chili oil vinegar sauce and garnished with fresh cilantro, scallions, toasted sesame, and crushed peanuts.
The collaboration will run all month long at Mimi Cheng’s NYC location, and will make a one-day appearance at Kato in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 26, 2025, where guests can also sample Mimi Cheng’s newly launched retail dumplings, alongside special menu items including shaved-ice kakigori and paired drinks.
