Directed by Oscar winner Steven Spielberg, Jaws became the first summer blockbuster that forever changed the movie industry. The suspenseful adventure film, adapted from the novel by Peter Benchley, is centered on three main characters—Brody, Hooper, and Quint—who hunt a great white shark menacing the seaside town of Amity Island. The monumental success of Jaws belies uncertain beginnings, where production challenges arising from an unprecedented mechanical shark spurred creative problem-solving. Over five decades later, it remains clear that the tenacity of its cast and crew led to the realization of this beloved classic, one of the most influential films in motion picture history.

Deets: This holiday season, Visit Big Bear invites guests to experience Alpine Zoo Wild Lights, the first immersive, nature-based holiday light walk in the San Bernardino Mountains — an experience that celebrates wildlife, community, and the preservation of Big Bear’s alpine wilderness using nearly 2 million LED and solar lights.

Produced by Visit Big Bear and hosted at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, Alpine Zoo Wild Lights benefits Care for Big Bear and the Zoo’s ongoing wildlife rehabilitation and conservation programs.

The celebration begins on November 5, 2025, with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce,featuring invited guests, community leaders, and local residents for an evening of music, lights, and first-look festivities. The following night,November 6, Alpine Zoo Wild Lights officially opens to the public with full ticketed admission, illuminating the Zoo in a wonderland of color, storytelling, and motion. The experience will operate Wednesday through Sunday evenings through January 4, 2026, with expanded hours during Thanksgiving week (Nov. 19–30) and throughout the holiday season (Dec. 17–Jan. 4) — closed on Christmas Day.

This inaugural event is made possible through the support of valued partners, including Big Bear Valley Recreation and Parks District, Big Bear Alpine Zoo, Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, S. For safety considerations, Skate Helpers cannot be rented to anyone over 12 years old and are rented at the discretion of the Rink Manager.

Lockers

Street Food Cinema and TIL Events are thrilled to announce the return of their beloved holiday event series, YULETIDE CINEMALAND, celebrating its 8th annual season at the historic Heritage Square Museum. The event begins Saturday, November 29, and continues through Tuesday, December 23, 2025. This year’s celebration promises to be the most enchanting yet, filled with festive features including holiday home tours, Yuletide Lounge, seasonal cocktails and spirits at the Tinsel Tavern, exclusive giveaways, and more merry surprises throughout the season.

The immersive winter experience welcomes guests to a cinematic winter wonderland, beginning with the sparkling Wintertime Walkway and the magical Twinkling Light Tunnel. Prince St Pizza locations nation-wide will be serving Home Alone style Little Nero’s cheese pizza, like Kevin McAllister orders in the film that is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.

The full Rickmas Holideli experience will be available at Fat Sal’s Hollywood. In addition, the exclusive menu items will be carried at Fat Sal’s Encino, Venice, Westwood, Studio City, Culver City, Glendale, and Las Vegas beginning December 10th.

Menu items and merchandise are limited and available while supplies last.

Deets: Viceroy Santa Monica announced the debut of its Après Surf Lounge, a seasonal pop-up transforming the hotel’s palm-tree surrounded outdoor terrace into a stylish winter escape. Designed in collaboration with Organic Research Group, the concept blends the cozy charm of après-ski culture with the laid-back spirit of California surf.

The destination will celebrate its public opening on December 11 with a live DJ and a retail pop-up by Organic Research Group. Kicking off from 6pm, hotel guests and visitors alike will be able to enjoy coastal inspired beats as they discover an edited collection vintage books surf coded luxury - think Prada wetsuits, Burberry swimwear, Versace paddle sets, and other covetable vintage pieces that blur the lines between beach culture and high fashion.

Running through February 28, the Après Surf Lounge offers casual, dining and cabana seating in an open-air setting, offering a selection of indulgent savory and sweet sharing plates alongside winter warmer cocktails. Featuring glowing fire pits, the space has been carefully curated by acclaimed celebrity styling duo Damian and Avigail Collins, who spent years traveling globally as vintage researchers and sourcing specialists for the likes of Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and St Vincent.
