Deets: Beauty Plus , co-produced with Bonny Taylor Ndiaye, documents the final chapter of the second Black-owned New Haven, CT beauty supply store, capturing its role as a space of community, identity, and resilience for Black and Brown residents for over 30 years. Through the lens of large-format photography, the project honors the care, labor, and legacy of owner Mel while reflecting on the complex cultural dynamics of Black beauty and self-expression.

Join us at the historic Sunset House LA for the VIP Collectors Circle from 5–7 PM for an intimate Artist Talk with Jasmine Ross about the Beauty Plus body of work. Your ticket includes one complimentary drink. DJs Major League and GULU will go back to back with some Hip-Hop and R&B throwbacks to make you feel at home at your local beauty supply.

From 7–10 PM, the Public Opening welcomes everyone to experience the photo exhibition, with special live performances from Marc E. Bassy, The Big Guy (Aux Cord + P-Lo) , TOMMY BOGO, and more!

This collaborative evening celebrates Black and Brown beauty spaces, the community-builders who support them, and the creatives who continue to shape arts and culture.
