Deets: The iconic Gardena Cinema will feature a special event screening as part of their inaugural Sad Girl Sundays (which will take place the fourth Sunday of every month) commemorating the 10-year anniversary of Diary of a Teenage Girl, followed by a 70’s-themed party and Q&A with the film’s producer Miranda Bailey, who also costars in the film. 

Sad Girls Sundays is being curated by Lauren Mann.  The film was so influential that Lana del Rey mentioned it in her critically acclaimed song A&W—named the best song of 2023 by multiple publications and crowned the number one song of the 2020s by Pitchfork.

The Diary of a Teenage Girl is a classic coming of age comedy-drama film about a 15-year-old girl (Bel Powley) who starts a relationship with her mother’s boyfriend (played by Kristin Wiig and Alexander Skarsgard).
