Deets: The Cortège is a ceremonious procession singing to a part of ourselves both ancient and eternal. Activating the lost arts of mythic pageantry, The Cortège mourns the fate of the modern era through movement, sound, costume, and spectacle.
The Cortège is a 90-minute participatory procession held at dusk, premiering this fall in Los Angeles—a festive funeral for our times, reawakening the lost arts of mythic pageantry. The evening begins with an open-air food market and live musical prelude from our house ensemble. As twilight descends, passengers don headsets transmitting a cinematic score featuring artists such as Air, El Búho, Kiasmos, Rival Consoles, A Beautiful Chorus, Boreta, and Tokimonsta. What follows is a wordless journey—through choreography and movement (from global talent including @miyu23_official and @capjjay), archetypal costuming (with works by Damselfrau, Spencer Hansen, and Orly Anon), drone apparitions (by Nova Sky Stories), puppetry, robotics, participation and integration. At evenings close, all are invited to join the procession and gather for shared tea in the Afterlife — and whatever may await beyond the veil.
