Deets: On Monday, FX continued the celebration of The Lowdown with a full day of LA activations that brought noir atmosphere, hot coffee, and pie straight to fans.
The morning began at legendary Canter’s Deli, where fans stepped into the world of small-town Americana. Guests were treated to complimentary slices of pie and coffee - specialties of The Lowdown’s “Sweet Emily’s” - served with a twist. Ethan Hawke (“Lee Raybon”) and Jeanne Tripplehorn (“Betty Jo Washberg”) surprised guests, stepping behind the counter to serve excited fans. The activation drew eager fans who dropped in throughout the day to grab a taste of the new series.
That evening, FX hosted a special screening event at Brain Dead Studios. Guests were among the first to watch Episode 1 before joining creator Sterlin Harjo and series star and Executive Producer Hawke for a live recording of The Ringer’s The Watch podcast. Moderated by host Chris Ryan, the conversation offered fans an inside look at the making of the show, Hawke’s role as bookstore owner Lee Raybon, and Harjo’s creative process in bringing the Tulsa noir to life. Various stars of the series were also in attendance to support the launch including Michael “Killer Mike” Render (“Cyrus Arnold”), Siena East (“Deidra”), Michael Hitchcock (“Ray”), Andre Hyland, Johnny Pemberton, Eric Edelstein, Josh Fadem, and Abbie Cobb.
FX’s The Lowdown premieres on September 23 on FX at 9PM and streams the next day on Hulu.
