Justin Bieber marked a triumphant return to the desert stage as the Saturday headliner. Bieber opened before a sea of fans with tracks from his latest studio albums, SWAG and SWAG II, before shifting gears for a nostalgic, mid-set trip down memory lane. Bieber offered a nod to his origins on YouTube where he first got his start by utilizing his laptop to revisit songs and music videos on the platform from different eras of his career. The segment sparked a collective singalong to early career-defining hits including “Baby,” “Favorite Girl,” “Beauty and a Beat,” “Sorry,” and his breakout rendition of Chris Brown’s “With You,” among others. Throughout, Bieber welcomed surprise guests The Kid Laroi, Dijon, Tems, and Wizkid, before concluding the spectacular night with guitaristMk.gee for his hit single “Daises.”
The spirit of collaboration continued across the Day 2 lineup with several major surprise appearances. GIVĒON was joined by Kehlani for a soulful performance of “Folded,” while PinkPatheress welcomed guests like HorsegiirL, The Dare, and actor Tyriq Withers. In an unexpected genre-bending moment, Sombr brought out The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan to perform the classic hit “1979,” as well as “Speed.” Additionally, David Guetta surprised the audience by bringing out Jennifer Lopez for a performance of their collaboration “Save Me Tonight.” These appearances highlighted the day’s focus on unique, unannounced moments across all stages.
