Deets: The 4th Annual Orange Glou Wine Fair returns this fall on October 26th and it’s bigger than ever with two floors showcasing over 150 orange wines to taste from around the world, including Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Germany, the U.S. and the Republic of Georgia. Launched by leading orange wine expert Doreen Winkler, a natural wine sommelier and founder of Orange Glou wine club, it is America’s only wine fair dedicated exclusively to orange wines. A one-of-a-kind event for orange wine enthusiasts, those new to the style or anyone looking for a unique NYC event this fall, the Orange Glou Wine Fair is the ultimate place to enjoy the full spectrum of orange wines and meet winemakers to learn more about this ancient style of wine, which originated in the Republic of Georgia 8,000 years ago. Plus, all guests get to take home a signature Orange Glou wine glass (value $15)! Hi-res images are here and more details below — hope you can mention it!
During each of two sessions on 10/26, guests can explore the world of orange wines, which are made using centuries-old techniques where the juice pressed from white grapes remains in contact with the skins during the fermentation process to create unique, versatile and delicious wines that range in color from pale gold to orange to amber. Participating wineries include Austria’s Weingut Maria & Sepp Muster, Werlitsch, Franz Strohmeier, Markus Altenburger, Claus Preisinger, Weingut Heinrich, Wachstum König, and Wabi-Sabi; Republic of Georgia’s Anapea Village, Pheasant's Tears, Okros Wines, Kapistoni, Igavi Wines and Zurab Kviriashvili Vineyards; America’s Ruth Lewandowski and Scotty Boy; Italy’s Podere Veneri Vecchio; Slovenia’s Cotar and Blazic; and Germany’s Weingut Bianka & Daniel Schmitt; and more to be announced.
Hint for the Average Socialite: The Orange Glou Wine Fair (@orangeglou_fair) takes place on Sunday October 26th at Home Studios (873 Broadway near Union Square, NYC). Tickets, which include a signature Orange Glou Fair wine glass, are $49 for the 11am-2:30pm session, and $59 for 3pm-6:30pm.
