Deets: The Gyro Project, the authentic Greek street food restaurant serving up Greece’s finest and freshest ingredients with a contemporary twist, today announced the opening of its second Manhattan location at 469 7th Ave. at 36th Street. The new Midtown establishment represents the fifth location for the brand developed by George Tenedios and Spiro Kokkosis, who opened The Gyro Project in 2023 in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The pair also recently opened an upscale Greek full-service spinoff concept — Taverna By The Gyro Project — at Hudson Yards in August.
Monday, Nov. 17, The Gyro Project will host a grand opening celebration where the first 50 people in line starting at 10:30AM. will receive a free gyro. The restaurant’s namesake menu item is a fresh pita filled with beef & lamb, chicken or pork belly, and then topped with crispy french fries, tomatoes, onions and any of the restaurant’s house made sauces, including tzatziki, spicy feta, TGP house sauce, hot harissa or honey mustard.
