Deets: To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, Heap’s Ice Cream will be giving free scoops to the first 100 guests starting when they open at 11:30 AM, followed by $3 scoops for the rest of the day.
Heap’s Ice Cream creates super-premium versions of classic childhood flavors, as well as adventurous new favorites. Their ice cream is locally churned, using farm-fresh milk and cream from pasture-raised Hudson Valley cows. Founder Matt Lieber borrowed the name from his great-grandmother, known as Grandma Heap, who insisted that every family gathering include shared bowls of ice cream. Co-founder Sarah Sanneh, a celebrated pastry chef who also founded the beloved Brooklyn restaurant Pies ’n’Thighs, leads culinary development for Heap’s. Flavors range from perfected classics like Vanilla Fudge Ripple and Fresh Minty Chip to modern creations like Strawberry Matcha Latte and Mango Sticky Rice, with all of them designed to delight great grandmothers, great-grandchildren, and everyone in between.
