Deets: You’re invited to Wikipedia Day NYC 2026 to help us celebrate the 25th birthday of Wikipedia, the biggest online encyclopedia on the internet! Co-hosted with Wikimedia DC and the Wikimedia Foundation, together we will explore the past, present, and future of the free knowledge movement, and celebrate all the people, communities and ideas that make Wikipedia the backbone of the internet.
What to expect
Keynote speeches
Family friendly fun activities, including face painting
Panels & presentations
Interactive edit-a-thons and beginner-friendly training workshops
Cultural activities celebrating global stories and local histories
Swag and merch giveaways (including 100 screen-printed tote bags, available on a first come first serve basis)
Lots of food, drinks, birthday cake & community-building
Hint for the Average Socialite: Postponed from original January date due to weather
