Deets: Presented by Pearl River Mart and Pearl River Mart Foods, the annual Chelsea Market Lunar New Year Extravaganza will take place on Sunday, March 1, from 11:30 AM to 5 PM. It will feature live performances, food and beverage specials, cultural activities, and the chance to play mahjong.
The line-up is as follows:
11:30 AM to 12 PM — Ribbon dancers from the renowned New York Chinese Cultural Center will perform on the main concourse in front of Pearl River Mart, followed by a short how-to
12 to 12:30 PM — Lion dancers from the Wan Chi Ming Hung Gar Institute Dragon and Lion Dance Team will begin their performance on the main concourse in front of Pearl River Mart and travel to the lower level at Pearl River Mart Foods
1 PM to 5 PM — Activities, mahjong, and food and beverages
Arts and craft activities with Sylvia Chen, author of picture books Sparkles for Sunny and Tricky Chopsticks
Meet-and-greet with Chinese metaphysics practitioner Julie Huang, creator of the Glow Up Golden Calendar (personalized consultation available with purchase of calendar)
Food and beverages available for purchase from Dickson’s Farmstand Meats, Kimbap Lab, Maxi’s Noodle Pop-Up, Mao’s Bao, and Tea and Milk
Mahjong tables (a limited number of teachers will be available)
