Deets: The Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID), which represents the more than 300 small businesses along one of the city’s busiest shopping corridors that’s also attracting new restaurants, is partnering with the recently opened IHOP at Fordham Plaza, to celebrate the eatery’s National Pancake Day.
To pay homage to a corridor famous for shoppers running to their last-minute secret sneaker drop, IHOP will celebrate Bronx-style, adding sneaker-shaped pancakes to the menu on Tuesday, March 3. The chain’s beloved free offer for its signature buttermilk short stack will also be available. (IHOP will also continue our partnership with Feeding America, asking guests to donate in-restaurant on March 3, 2026.)
The BID will also share official details on its upcoming partnership with Bronx Fashion Week, a contest that will allow the public the opportunity to design a sneaker that will be unveiled during the week later this year, and included in a public neighborhood art installation.
The Fordham Road BID recently completed a Commercial District Needs Assessment (CDNA), which found that approximately 1 in 4 stores along Fordham Road sell sneakers, the highest per capita of sneaker stores anywhere in the world.
The Fordham Road BID, through Chairman David Rose, is providing free parking for guests on a first come, first serve basis.
Hint for the Average Socialite: This event is open to the public.
