Deets: America officially turns 250 – launching a year-long celebration of our nation’s past, present, and future. From a surprise post-midnight moment to red, white, and blue lighting and confetti, this New Year’s Eve marks the start of the Semiquincentennial – only in Times Square, where the world comes together to witness history.
The Times Square Ametrica 250 Ball will drop again (the first drop took place on NYE) on July 3, 2026, marking the first time in history the Ball drops outside of New Year’s Eve.
The Fourth of July countdown moment will anchor America250’s nationwide Independence Day celebrations and reinforce New York City’s central role in the nation’s Semiquincentennial.
Hint for the Average Socialite: This event is free and open to the public.
