Deets: On August 23, This Is About Humanity co-founders Zoe Winkler Reinis, Elsa Marie Collins and Yolanda Selene Walther-Meade held their 7th Annual Soiree. This year, the soiree honored The Rosenthal Family for their generous support over the years. Joined by key partners and stakeholders, the event supports This is About Humanity’s fund at the International Community Foundation, LA Emergency Wildfire relief and their food relief kitchen at the border. Special guests also included Annie Gonzalez, Diego Boneta, Demián Bichir, Gloria Calderon Kellett, Jessica Barden, Katharine McPhee Foster, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Xochitl Gomez, and Wilmer Valderrama.
“Over the last seven years, This Is About Humanity has delivered over 2,000,000 meals to families and reached countless more through mental health, education, and emergency services. Our mission today is as critical as ever. Last night’s event is a reminder of our continuing effort to work alongside our partners on the ground ensuring all the needs of families across the border are met with compassion and care,” said Zoe Winkler Reinis, Co-Founder of This Is About Humanity.
“Our soiree is about coming together in support of the incredible work we’ve been able to achieve at This is About Humanity, and look ahead to all that is still left to do. I’m honored to see our partners and supporters come together to continue ensuring critical aid to families across the US-Mexico border. Without our supporters, we wouldn’t be able to ensure that every family is seen and supported,” said Elsa Marie Collins, Co-Founder of This Is About Humanity.
The 7th Annual Soiree included a culinary showcase led by Michelin Award Winning Lead Chef Javier Plascencia and Michelin Award Winning Sommelier Lauren Plascencia to support This Is About Humanity’s ongoing programming. Event programming also included a paddle raise, Cale & Cael luggage tag station, a portrait studio by Carlos Eric Lopez, tequila sponsorship by Casa Dragones, Gin sponsorship by Condesa Gin, Caviar sponsorship by Roe Caviar, a chocolate station from Laderach, a portrait artist, and a cigar station from Lovo Cigar.
