Deets: On Saturday, September 19 from 10:30AM-2:30PM, Bryant Park’s Reading Room will host its 8th annual Crossword Tournament, a free outdoor competition where solvers of all skill levels can put their puzzle-solving skills to the test.

Participants will tackle three original puzzles by crossword guru Mike Shenk, with scoring based on accuracy and speed. Compete solo or team up with a friend in the Pairs division, with the top three individual solvers advancing to the final round and prizes awarded across all divisions. The tournament will be facilitated by crossword experts Amy Goldstein, co-founder of Puzzability, and Mike Shenk,The Wall Street Journal’s puzzle editor.

The Reading Room at Bryant Park is a free, open-air literary oasis in Midtown, offering books, newspapers, magazines, and weekly programming including author talks, poetry readings, film discussions, and more through September.
